Freelance video editor

Early Career

From a young age, Bernard was always driven by creativity, and this led him to do a diploma in media. Things have only grown since then, but his passion for video remains and is what leads him on as a freelance videographer.

After his first tentative steps into media, Bernard’s talent was recognised, as he was offered an unconditional offer to prestigious arts university, Ravensbourne. Through his studies, Bernard’s love for film only grew, and he began to develop his video marketing skills working for ThreadsTV.

ThreadsTV gave Bernard the opportunity to step into the corporate world and test out his video production skills with a unique fashion publication. Working with top brands like Lacoste, Topman, New Era, and Converse, Bernard clearly impressed, as upon completion of his university degree he was appointed head of production at ThreadsTV.

Working as head of production was just the opportunity Bernard needed to take responsibility for a team and really add his personality to his work. During this time, ThreadsTV was voted “Britain’s Coolest Style Site,” known for its slick, innovative content.

Freelance Work

Looking for further challenges, Bernard moved into freelance work after two years with ThreadsTV, eager to work with other mediums. As a freelance videographer, Bernard honed his skills with lots of different clients across many mediums:

Bernard’s early work as a freelance filmmaker helped him develop many of the skills that serve his clients so well today, but before he would set up ItsBernard, he would go back into the corporate world and add to his experience working with some major brands.

Working for Tag Worldwide

Working with Tag Worldwide, a global brand services agency, Bernard continued to grow his skills and work with some of the world’s biggest brands. After 2 years with Tag, Bernard had worked on over 100 projects, directing, producing, shooting, and editing, while managing teams of freelancers to exceed his clients’ expectations.

A particular highlight of this time was directing the launch videos for the world’s first 4G action camera, a project that was worth £1.7 million in media value.

Bernard believes that working in a corporate environment and delivering big projects such as these helped him develop the service skills that define ItsBernard. Of course, Bernard wants to give his clients the best video possible, but the service has got to be there too. Videography should be an experience that the client enjoys, and that’s what Bernard aims to offer.

ItsBernard Video Marketing

After 3 years with Tag, Bernard knew it was time to follow his passion and go back to freelancing. Having developed his skills working with corporate clients, it was time to offer clients a digital video marketing agency with Bernard’s personal touch, and ItsBernard was born.

Since then, Bernard has been offering the full range of videography services, creating high-quality video production, but most importantly, offering a personalised, professional experience. Working as a freelance video producer gives Bernard the freedom to express the creativity that got him into video all those years ago. However, his experience working in more corporate environments has shown him the values of professionalism, organisation, and hard work that are at the heart of his new service.

ItsBernard stems from a boy with a passion for video and it’s this passion that drives him to create exceptional videos for his clients. Video and video marketing are always changing, so it’s important to Bernard that he continues to learn and stay one step of the game. He’s always got new ideas to give to his clients and is always striving to improve their experience.
